Bob DeMarco [00:00:00]:
Up. The May gentleman junkie giveaway knife. We take a look at a gift I got from my good friend Paul b, and we're giving away these fixed blade knives. We're gonna show you nine fixed blade knives from OG blade reviews that we're gonna be giving away right here on Thursday night knives. I'm Bob DeMarco. This is the knife junkie pod

Announcer [00:00:23]:
Welcome to the knife junkie podcast, your weekly dose of knife news and information about knives and knife collecting. Here's your host, Bob the knife junkie DeMarco.

Bob DeMarco [00:00:36]:
Welcome back to the show. One of my favorite comments from this past week's interview of, of, Zeke Johnston of Alaska Blade Studio was from Jason Scott sixty nine zero six. He says, thanks for the great interview, Bob. Zeke makes some beautiful knives. I'm gonna check out his website. And I love this because it's just a bit of evidence that I'm exposing people of great knife makers that I'm coming up, and that I'm finding, and I that really pleases me. And this second one sort of, underscores that. He says, love this.

Bob DeMarco [00:01:11]:
I own several knives made by Zeek. I love the quality. They always look fantastic. This is from Zinni Zebra, and I love this one because I'm not just the only one who knows about these people I'm showing. There are other people out there who already know about these knife makers, and they're already collecting their knives. So I like to be somewhere in the middle. A knife yenta, if you will, bringing people together. So, really happy, that I could expose the world to Zeke Johnston in an in another way.

Bob DeMarco [00:01:43]:
He's exposed himself, to the world with his beautiful knives. And, by the way, he's sending me a package, to show off to all you, so I cannot wait to get his knives and show them to you. Alright. That said, let's now get to a pocket check.

Announcer [00:02:00]:
What's in his pocket? Let's find out. Here's the knife junkie with his pocket check of

Bob DeMarco [00:02:06]:
knives. In my front right pocket today, I had the beautiful Riot a two. Now this one at this point is I don't know. This is this is verging on 10 old. It's been around for quite some time, and it's a hard one to get these days. I know that Knife Joker, a website, was doing, exclusive versions of this knife. This came in four colorways when I got it, and I got it in the one that I considered the least desirable, and, when I got it, I was very, very pleased. I wanted the one that sort of emulated the, katana grip, but I got the one that looks more like a dragon dragon's back with scales and, man, never turned back.

Bob DeMarco [00:02:52]:
I love this knife. Deep hollow ground s 35 v n blade. Awesome action. This is pretty early on in the whole I have to have bearings in my pivot, movement, and it's still one of the best. I love this knife and, I don't carry it enough. You know how things how things go. You get new stuff, you start carrying all that stuff. Next up in my front left pocket and right pocket, depending on where my phone was, frankly, was the Jack Wolf Knives Mini Cyborg Jack.

Bob DeMarco [00:03:27]:
I love this one. I keep meaning to carry it, and I haven't for a while, and I finally busted it out today. It's about the size of a GEC number 15 boy's knife, but it's a very unique design with an angular handle that's surprisingly ergonomic and comfortable in hand, designed by none other than Ben Belkin of Jack Wolf Knives. Most of his knives are are his sort of modern retreads of, traditional designs, but the Cyborg and the mini Cyborg here and, and the flipping version are all his with that really interesting unique, handle shape that feels great in hand, and then that nearly it's, an American tanto. It's nearly an American tanto clip point blade. I really like it. A very unique clip point blade. Reminds me a bit of the Lanny's clip or the Benny's clip, if you will, And, had this in my pocket in the leather sheath it came with, a leather pocket slip it came with.

Bob DeMarco [00:04:31]:
Next up, from my good buddy, Matt Chase of Hogtooth Knives, I had, our second collaboration knife, the Nova two. Honestly, I haven't carried this one in a little while, and today, it was like a breath of fresh air. This thing is so wickedly sharp, not only on the point, which is obvious, but on the edge, which is, one fifty four centimeters blade steel coming to a very keen and thin behind the edge hollow grind. Just a beautiful knife. Only a very few amount of people have this knife so far, but after blade show this year, this will go on wider offer through, Hogtooth Knives website. The only thing is you won't get this, very exclusive colorway with the ivory g 10 and the red liners. But everything else, go for it. Alright.

Bob DeMarco [00:05:25]:
And last up on me today was the, this wasn't on my person. This was in my bag, but I had the FMF from Hogtooth Knives. So I'm sorry, from Teakel Knives. It's funny that I say that because, Hogtooth and Teakel, two of my absolute favorite, custom slash small fixed blade knife makers out there, both marines. So they share a lot of, similar DNA. I love this thing. This was a collaboration with Frogman Tactical. There's his logo right there.

Bob DeMarco [00:06:03]:
Frogman Tactical, former Navy SEAL who does a lot of tactical training for civilians and military, and this is one of three collaboration knives, designs that he did with Tikal knives. This one, the Bowie blade on that mercenary handle. So beautiful. And in this case, a super exclusive. Don't tread on me on one side with the Gadsden snake and then, of course, the We The People on the other side. So beautiful, so American. And then, of course, a very, unique, rare, and proprietary, Burl red, white, and blue, g 10 handle there. So really an all around amazing knife.

Bob DeMarco [00:06:49]:
Now this is one that I wanna get in a plain Jane version. I love and cherish this absolutely beautiful, super duper limited edition version of this knife, but it's so practical, so useful, so nasty as well, to be frank. I would love to have this in a straight up version with just a plain sort of handle and a plain sort of blade. But until that, I have this, and I'm very grateful. So this is what I had on me today. I had one Bowie, one Kuredashi, one clip point slash almost tanto, and one super, tanto in the Riata k two. I'm gonna put these away, and I want you to drop in the comments below what you were carrying today. To me, it's great information because it gives me ideas on what I'd like to get and, also gives me an idea of how classy and, what great taste my viewers and listeners have.

Bob DeMarco [00:07:48]:
So drop that in the comments below. This thing is so cool. We the people. Not sure why I said it in my lame Arnold Schwarzenegger, but there you go. Alright. Next up, I wanna show you the Gentleman Junkie knife giveaway knife for May 2025. You've seen my version of this. Well, this could be your version of this if you become a Gentleman Junkie.

Bob DeMarco [00:08:13]:
Now that is the high tier of support on Patreon and, we are gonna be giving away the brand new, Off Grid Knives Stinger XL. Now he calls it drop point, but I have noticed it's the same exact blade shape as the original, which was a spear a a dagger ground or bayonet ground, spear point just like this one. However, this one is full flat ground. It's so thin and slicey behind the edge. It has such great shearing power. I've been carrying around the coyote tan version of this, for about a week, maybe nine, ten days, and been loving it. So this blackout version goes to one lucky gentleman junkie, as does a bolt pen. Now this one is mine.

Bob DeMarco [00:09:02]:
I didn't wanna take the bolt pen out of the package that I would be sending you our lucky winner, but this is a fully aluminum tactical pen, full size tactical pen from OffGrid Knives and it's got on one side a great writing, Stilo that pops out there and then if you, turn it around and put it on the bolt action on this side, you get a tungsten carbide glass breaker. So either way you choose, you can either write or break out or leave them both in and you can coup baton people with this. Yours, if you win, will be a, camo green, you know, an olive drab, green anodized aluminum version of this pen. This one is mine. He sent me four. I kept one. I mean, I'm just a man, you know, with all the weaknesses implied. So I kept one myself, but I've been giving them away.

Bob DeMarco [00:09:58]:
And the last one to give away will be this May for the gentleman junkie knife giveaway along with this beautiful Stinger XL they call drop point. I call FFG because it is a full flat ground knife and man alive does this blade sing through whatever it's got. Alright. Well, you may have noticed I was mentioning Gentleman Junkie. That is our high level of support on Patreon. Please go to, theknifejunkie.com/patreon to check out all we have to offer. We have three different, levels of support. The the top tier gets entered into an exclusive knife giveaway every month on the third Thursday of the month.

Bob DeMarco [00:10:40]:
And, yeah, we give away a lot of knives on Thursday night knives, but, the gentleman junkie knife giveaway is always a step above. So just go to the knifejunkie.com/patreon or scan the QR code on your screen. Again, that's the knifejunkie.com/patreon.

Bob DeMarco [00:11:16]:
Okay. First up in knife life news, this is another fixed blade knife from Vostid. Now the very first fixed blade knife from Vostid was their very first knife. It was the Morgan, an awesome chef's knife, that we still have up in the kitchen. It's still one of my wife's, favorites. But this is their fifth fixie to come out, that's not a culinary knife, and this one is an EDC, so it's kind of their first EDC fixed blade knife. And, man, what a charmer. Take a look at the screen.

Bob DeMarco [00:11:48]:
This is a compact 2.2 inch, flavor style, 14 c 28 n blade with a flat grind and fully jimp spine. Look at that spine. No matter where your thumb or forefinger lands, it's gonna land on some serious purchase with that gym pin. One thing they did do with this is give it a full size handle. Now full size might be stretching it, but you're gonna get all four fingers on this handle. It's got a finger groove, beautiful storm cloud blue, if I'm being poetic, micarta with a butt end, run of jimping as you can see there right above that beautifully generous lanyard hole. And, it's just a great little all around package. And it's not gonna make people freak out when you pull this out and cut stuff.

Bob DeMarco [00:12:38]:
It's just sort of an innocent looking 2.2 inches cleaver style, fixed blade knife. Kydex sheath with their sore clip, that's s period o period a period r period flip, that stands for secured omni adjustable, rotation clip. So you can basically, it's like the kind of clips we know where you can turn it and orient it any which way you you like. Kinda like a tops or other not other clips we've seen like that. 2.23 ounces, which I might add is one ounce per inch of blade length, which is kind of the magic mean there, and it is available now. I was just checking it out on the Vossteed website and it's quite affordable. So go check that out. Next up, this one is kind of interesting and exciting.

Bob DeMarco [00:13:34]:
This is from Worksharp. Now we know Worksharp for their sharpeners, obviously from the name. Worksharp, they make great field sharpeners like this one, which I always have around and and easily accessible. I love this thing. But they also have the machine sharpeners, the small grinders, with the belts. Well, they're now entering for the first time into the production knife realm with their first family of folders called the RMX. Now the RMX, that stands for replaceable mechanism exchange. And now we're looking at the larger of the two of their initial releases for this RMX category And, you see that beautiful angular wharncliffe.

Bob DeMarco [00:14:22]:
This is in three v. And, the other version is a beefy little drop point in m three ninety. But, let's talk about about this handle and the the whole, mechanism here. So the unique selling proposition of the RMX line is that it has this replaceable mechanism exchange, which means you can take out the pivot and exchange it for an automatic. So it goes essentially from a button lock, to an, button lock manual folder to an automatic button lock, which is really cool and unique. And I gotta say, for a company that's never made a knife before, a a a pretty ambitious, order here. The handle now check this out. The handles are integral on both of these models.

Bob DeMarco [00:15:11]:
This is my favorite, the angular wharncliffe. They're integral. Yes. That's right. But they are cast magnesium. That's right. Magnesium. We haven't heard much about magnesium in, knife making.

Bob DeMarco [00:15:24]:
By the way, you can see someone's fingerprints on that handle, which I like in that picture. But, yeah. Integral cast magnesium. So check it out. And, you know, the the crazy thing about this is that they bring it all into a pretty damn affordable, package, just slightly over a hundred bucks. These are available now, limited quantity, and I'm sorry. Not limit not available now. They will be available in limited quantity at Blade Show.

Bob DeMarco [00:15:53]:
So if you're listening to this as it drops, that's less than a month away, that's 06/06/2025. They will be at Booth Number 312. So definitely go by Work Sharp and check out all of their sharpening stuff. It's some of the best, I love it, but this RMX line of knives, their first family of folders, is pretty fast. Next up. This is one I almost held up recording for tonight to order because I want, as the lower third says, I want this one so badly. This is from the great and powerful and classy designer, Ray Laconico. I say classy because, Ray Laconico's knives are oftentimes oh, pardon me.

Bob DeMarco [00:16:40]:
Very simple, beautiful, clean designs, very elegant and simple, as I said. This one is, it's kinda straying outside his normal. It is beautiful. It is elegant, but it is big. At 4.25 inches, that's an s 35 v n clip point bowie style blade. That's big, 4.25 inches, four and a quarter. You don't see too many knives that big. This one has a Bowie blade as mentioned, symmetrical cross guards, and a nicely curved titanium frame lock handle, with a dual tone colorway.

Bob DeMarco [00:17:18]:
And it's not just a dual tone, but a dual texture, type of titanium. So that's one single, slab of titanium on either side, but they make they make the center part look like it's an inlay and they and it's, smooth on the inlay, colored differently, and then, micro textured on the on the rest of it. High frame lock, eight colorways. Not six, not seven, but eight colorways, of this two two tone titanium handle. Really, really beautiful. I want you to gaze at that blade for a moment. So gorgeous. I love that.

Bob DeMarco [00:17:58]:
Also goes to show that Ray Laconico is a very, very talented maker and designer, and that he can change things up. This is his first design with concept and, being so, it's he's doing something different, which is impressive. 6.71 ounces available now. And I am taking donations of the concept bison. I'm just kidding. That was shameless and horrible. Alright. Last up, this one is from Boker Knives, and, this is an interesting one.

Bob DeMarco [00:18:29]:
It's a a reproduction. This is also something I really think I should have. I don't just want it. I think it's a moral imperative to get it. But this is the Boker sleeve dagger after the SOE, covert weapon. SOE special operations executive that was, the precursor to the SAS for the Brits. Kind of a spy slash paramilitary agency during World War two. They had a lot of really cool, clandestine weapons like the little lapel dagger.

Bob DeMarco [00:19:04]:
I was gonna try and dig it up. Little lapel daggers and, different kind of weapons that they could hide on their person when dressed as a civilian, but still be able to bring to bear, when taking out the bad guys. This is also known as a bodkin or a nail dagger. This beauty has a 3.5 inch triangular in cross section dagger blade milled out of a single solid piece of four forty a steel. A really beautiful knife. All three, sides, all three flats of this triangular in cross section dagger have fullers and, the the handle itself is milled with a really nice cross hatched grippy pattern. Now if you're looking at the picture that's on the screen currently, right northwest of the four forty a designation, you'll see a channel, that separates the handle from the blade. Well, that channel is a place where you can, wrap a little bit of string or leather cordage to give yourself a bit of a cross guard because this has no cross guard, to mention.

Bob DeMarco [00:20:14]:
However, for for me, this is a stabbing and reverse grip style weapon. So you would most likely have the thumb capping the pommel so as not to slide onto the, oblique behind the edge but sharp triple edge there. But if you did have it in a standard grip, you would want something to stop your hand from sliding on. So they do mention, that that little channel that circumnavigates the handle right before the blade can be filled with a leather, leather Tang or, you know, I'm sorry, a leather cord or string. And then, up on screen now is that mushroom shaped pommel, great for not only capping with the thumb, but less than lethal knocking on the head or whatever. A great little bit there. So this is a a heavy little sucker, 5.2 ounces. Not that heavy, but, you know, different ratio than that earlier, Vasti, and it comes with a leather sheet that you can attach to your arm or to your leg.

Bob DeMarco [00:21:20]:
The Boker Sleeve Dagger is now available. So, do go check that out. A little bit of history on your arm or your ankle. Alright. Still to come, we're gonna check out a really cool gift I got from Paul Bull, a good friend here of the show and a gentleman junkie. But before we do, be sure to comment on the show, but also, download the show to your favorite podcast app. You see, most people don't have a full on hour to sit down in front of YouTube and watch this show. And oftentimes, they might choose to, watch, you know, something else also.

Bob DeMarco [00:22:00]:
So you might not get to this, but in in the meantime, you can download the show to your favorite podcast app and move on from there. So, do that. Also, check out our newsletter. That's a it's a sometimes weekly. This week, I space. But it's a mostly weekly, letter that talks about some nice thing happening around here and includes really cool pictures. Alright. Coming up, the state of the collection.

Bob DeMarco [00:22:50]:
Alright. Just before we tossed to this section, I said Paul Bull, and I was thinking of Paul Bull's the author. I do that a lot. I meant Doug Bull. My good buddy, Doug Bull. Sorry, Doug. I don't know. You're like an author to me, because you've sent me so many cool things, but Paul, Doug Doug Bole, sent me this beautiful blackthorn walking stick, a a, very traditional Irish walking stick and this thing measures about four and a half feet long so, when I'm walking with it, it it it's not down by my waist, it's up around here.

Bob DeMarco [00:23:32]:
Well, a little bit lower than here, but it is beautiful. Now you've seen, plastic versions of this Blackthorn walking stick made by Cold Steel and, maybe you've seen, one of these in real life, a genuine one. But, man, I am so grateful to you, Doug. Thank you so much for sending me this this. I love it. I can't wait to show it to my father who's gonna be in town in, well, a couple of weeks here. And, he really actually is the guy who taught me, my love for going on hikes and going for long walks, and he always has a walking stick. And he does not have a blackthorn walking stick.

Bob DeMarco [00:24:14]:
He's got a a Bubba stick that I got him that has a similar sort of brass head, but this is so classic and so traditional. I'm just really thrilled to have it. And of course, it says, God provides my strength, which is a % true. Also, my family provides my strength. So God and family, and let's throw in country because I love The United States. So, I am so thankful. Thank you so much for this, Doug. Doug Bull.

Bob DeMarco [00:24:48]:
I promise not to knock anyone in the knocker in the head with this, unless I have to. I know Doug has had a life of, keeping people in order. He is a former Elio. Thank you for your service, sir. And, I'm sure you wanna see an end to all that kind of stuff. But it's nice to know there's a little heavy knob on the end of this stick when I go out walking with my dog. So thank you so much, Doug. I greatly appreciate this.

Bob DeMarco [00:25:15]:
And I think the rest of the night, I'm just gonna go like this because it's cool. Alright. Maybe I won't, but thank you, sir. Alright. We're gonna get to, the fixed blade knives. We're giving a what? We're giving away nine fixed blade knives. Yes. It's true.

Bob DeMarco [00:25:31]:
OG blade reviews. Dave gave us an awesome haul of knives that, we are gonna be giving away here and I wanna show them off. But before we do, you have to check out this cool t shirt that Jim just created called I'm a big knife guy. And, if you didn't know it, it's true. I am a big knife guy. You can see them, some of them, arrayed behind me. That's just a small fraction. Are you too a big knife guy? Trent, I know you are.

Bob DeMarco [00:25:59]:
And many of you are, so, please go check this out. Just go to the knifejunkie.com/shop. Check out all the really cool designs that Jim creates on a weekly basis, and you can get them on t shirts, aprons, mouse pads. Mouse pads. Taking you back to the late eighties here. But all the cool stuff you can get, tote bags, coffee mugs, all that kind of stuff with all of these great designs. And I have to say, I'm a big fan of this giant cool dagger he has on this one, the handle of which is the eye, in big, the blade of which is the eye in knife. Really, really cool design.

Bob DeMarco [00:26:40]:
So go check that out. Alright. Fixed blade knives. Now I mentioned it before, Thursday night knives is when we do our knife junkie giveaway on third Thursday of every month. But we also have a great friend of the show and a personal friend of mine, Dave, of OG Blade Reviews. OG Blade Reviews, you can see the website, his his address right here, youtube.com/0gbladereviews. He is awesome. Now, if you don't know Dave, he is a practitioner, like a lifelong martial arts practitioner.

Bob DeMarco [00:27:16]:
He's an artist, a photographer, and he is incredible with a knife and you can see him in action doing cutting stuff on his website, but mostly what you will see is his amazing collection. He collects a lot of knives, but he's also a very generous guy. And he sends this channel, yours truly, knives to give away to you. And I benefit from it because before I send it to you, I get to check it out. And every once in a while, I will adopt enough. It's true. It's happened. Just think of the immortal, the cold steel immortal, and many others.

Bob DeMarco [00:27:52]:
Not being coy here. But he just sent me a box of fixies that I am very much, I love them all and, would like to keep almost all of them, but I'm not going to because I'm a disciplined guy. And, and that discipline and, Dave's generosity is your benefit. Let's get to the first one. This is one that came out a few years ago from Azzo, Design, and this is called the Kizer Baby. Weird name, cool knife. So the Baby is a leaf, kind of a leaf shaped blade, maybe a leaf in the wind shaped blade. You can see a slight recurve at the tip, but it's got a full belly and, you can see the name Baby and Azzo, the designer's maker the designer's maker's mark on the back.

Bob DeMarco [00:28:47]:
This is a full tang one fifty four centimeters blade, super sharp. I mean, it is ridiculously sharp and shearing, with that blade geometry. Now you can see jimping a full row of jimping on the thumb up here and then a nice bit of jimping to stop the forefinger from sliding up and just to give you a little positive, feedback when you're when you're gripping this thing. A really nice, what do we call this? Neutral. I'll call it neutral or Jade g 10. You got a little bit of scuffing from the sheath there. It's a very tight sheath, very nice kydex sheath. That'll rub come right off of some rub rubbing alcohol, which I will, hit it with before I send this out to you or whoever the winner is.

Bob DeMarco [00:29:34]:
Again, this is gonna be happening on Thursday night knives. Now these blades are all going out on Thursday night knives. That's 10PM Eastern Standard Time right here on YouTube and Twitch, and it's I gotta say, it's the greatest. I love it. I look so forward to Thursday night knives. We have a great time. We've been having a bigger and bigger audience, a great and robust conversation, and a lot of giveaways due to, frankly, Dave's generosity. The sheath paddock, sheath pancake style here, and you have a 90 degree rotational sheath here, so you can carry it dangling from your belt, or you can, loosen this screw and slide it up to 90 degrees.

Bob DeMarco [00:30:16]:
Now, essentially, that's, that's like a well, it's it's kind of a three sixty because you can just reposition, this clip on the other side or upside down, and you can basically have this sheath in any position you want on the 360, degree, circle thing. I thought I was being slick with my math but, you know what I'm saying, you can turn this any way you want, you just have to reposition the clip. But a really, really nice knife and I know that, a lot of people have really, really loved this knife. I think this was one of the favorites of, the great and powerful Stasa 23. So this is the Kaiser Baby. Next up, now this one, Dave sent me a while ago and I was really hesitating giving this away because I frankly love it. This is the OSTOP Hell designed Metamorph fixed blade by Real Steel. Now we all know the Metamorph, older, one of the very, very, very first front flippers on the market and definitely one of the most popular to go large, but this is a really cool 14 c 28 n fixed blade version of this knife.

Bob DeMarco [00:31:38]:
Now this knife has, I'm guessing, a four and a quarter inch blade. Let's see if my if my spatial reasoning is correct. Just about, you know, if we measured to here, but about a four inch blade here, 14 c 28 and sharp as the day is long and pointy and beautiful. Plus you got micro milling on this g 10, very wide chamfers, makes for a very comfortable carry. But when you look at it, it also has a very unique and futuristic look. I love Osta Pels designs, And, I gotta say this one has that sort of Italian speedboat look to it, that I sometimes describe knives as having. And, I'm a big fan of this one. Someone win this one so I can get it out of here.

Bob DeMarco [00:32:27]:
I don't deserve to have this. Well, I do, but I need to give this to one of you. Got jumping on the thumb of that crown spine and jumping back here also, crowned on that full tag. So beautiful knife, great sheath, comes with a bunch of extra, or, paracord, five fifty paracord and terminates down here with one of these little, clips so you can measure off how much you want. Whether you want it hanging, from the neck, which I don't recommend, or perfect for that samurai carry with that, retention around the belt and then you just kind of slip the sheath into the belt rod. Alright. Next up, from one of those sort of enigmatic but somewhat luxurious lines from China, The Tucson Talon. This is from Night Morning Design.

Bob DeMarco [00:33:26]:
A kind of befuddling name. Whoops. I just shot that off there. A really great sheet. Look at this. What you have here is a d two, recurve karambit. I mean it reminds me a bit of the Black Talon two or the or the civilian from Spyderco. Beautiful recurve blade here on in the karambit format.

Bob DeMarco [00:33:53]:
I'm gonna hold it in the in the normal grip like this. Not that that's normal for a karambit, but I mean, look at how wicked this is. Has very nice sharp jimping right here on the thumb. It's got that little window there in the blade, but really comfortable in hand. Like this, you can get a full fist without having to alter your grip at all. It's got jimping on the, thumb ring, which is great, and, you could do your flipping and stuff. I'm not going to because I'm under camera. And, you know, I gotta say, I haven't done this yet but that edge there, terminating, in the choil, I don't know, could be an issue if you do do a lot of flipping, but most of us, we're not karambit experts.

Bob DeMarco [00:34:44]:
We just love the efficacy of this. And look, all you need to do is be able to hold something like this and you have an extremely capable, self defense knife. It's got layered micarta that's micro, I'm sorry, layered G 10 black and green. That's, micro milled to beautiful effect. Again, night morning design, D two blade steel, and an awesome, Kydex sheet. Kydex is very difficult when you're doing recurves and this one is a double recurve and somehow, maybe it's because they graduate 41,000 engineers a year in China, they were able to really get a great fit, but also a form fitting fit on that very difficult blade shape there, so absolutely beautiful. Also comes with a Tekla type, clip here. Really nice knife.

Bob DeMarco [00:35:41]:
Thank you Dave for that. This next one is an homage knife. That's what I'm calling it. I have an homage watch. It looks like a Rolex Explorer, but let's face it, I don't make Rolex Explorer money. So I love the look of it. I got it. It's a Pagani.

Bob DeMarco [00:36:00]:
It's nice, but I took the strap off and put a a leather strap on so no one looks at it and thinks, that's just a fake Rolex. Well, this is kind of a similar thing here. This is an homage knife of the Bastinelli Creations, Mako. Now, Mako fixed blade, that is. It is beautiful. It's well made. The steel, I think, is probably d two, though it's not designated. It's got gorgeous, contoured handle scales, a crown spine all the way around, including the tang all the way around.

Bob DeMarco [00:36:39]:
Milled handle. Everything about this knife is outstanding, and I gotta put the little caveat, except it's not a bastinelli, and this is very, very much a bastinelli knife, this design. No one else it is that tactical art, but, you know, you might be interested in this blade, in the bastinelli, and you might wanna see if you want it or if you like it. And this is a great way, to get behind the wheel of one. Or you could just come to Thursday Night Knives and drop knife in the comments and win it and have it. It is a really cool, knife. I I love the look of it, and it feels great. This one has also a taco, style kydex sheet, excellently done.

Bob DeMarco [00:37:30]:
I like that it's got the one grommet there. Here we also have a Tek Lok style, clip. This is not a Tek Lok, but it's a Tek Lok style clip and then you have a, a, scabbard that perfectly emulates the blade, locks in there really nicely, but not too nicely that you can't grip it and rip it and go to town with it if you needed to. A really, really nice self defense knife. And I gotta say, since this is a very close homage, if not exact, to the bastinelli knife. I gotta, tip my hat to Bastian Cove, who designs beautiful tactical art, as he says. So here we go. This is the Fastanelli Mako homage knife we're calling.

Bob DeMarco [00:38:23]:
Alright. Next up. This one is very cool. This is the, Ramet. Now I've never experienced a Ramet knife before. This one is called the Allosaur. The Allosaur. I'm sorry.

Bob DeMarco [00:38:36]:
Allosaurus, like the dinosaur, like the sort of cousin of the T Rex. A beautiful shaped blade. This is d two blade steel, flat ground. I don't know what you'd call that. What do you what do you want a a truncated clip point perhaps? You've got a nice, really nice belly, a a bit of straight edge here, very robust with that, full tang here, and then, sculpted sort of randomized rock pattern on the g 10. Really comfortable in hand and I gotta say it's got a really nice handle that is just as much as you need and nothing extra, which I appreciate on an EDC style knife. This is, to me, an EDC style knife though, if you're a backpacker or camper or hiker, this might be your bag as well because it's small, it's relatively light for what it is, and it's got got this great low profile TACO Kydex sheet. It's got the Tek Lok style clip here and and awesome, I wanted to try it out but I don't wanna follow it for you, Ferro rod with striker.

Bob DeMarco [00:39:51]:
So it doesn't necessarily it doesn't at all have a 90 degree spine here, but it does come the Ferro rod does come with a striker, so you can, throw some spark with this. This is looks like a great outdoors all around small all around outdoors night. You can clip it to your backpack, clip it to your belt, where wherever you need it. And we all know that d two blade steel at this point is super awesome. When it first came out, it was hailed as a super steel and then fell out of favor pretty quickly and has been sort of relegated to the, budget knife world, but we're seeing through various, testing online how robust and awesome D2 blade steel is, especially with a good heat treat. And I know, from watching my trusted voices, on YouTube that Ramet is a very good and trustworthy brand. So I have no doubt this is an awesome, awesome knife and, this is one of the few not one of the few, one of the ones out of this batch that I'm very tempted to keep myself, but I'm not gonna do it. Jared is with the barrel rod.

Bob DeMarco [00:41:06]:
Of course, you'll want to put this in your pocket, what have you, but, a very nice package overall. Alright. Next up from our favorite El Salvadorian knife makers, this one is from Condor and it's called the Fighter. Look at this thing. Beautiful clip point blade. It's got sort of a convex ground swedge. You can see it's a very softly ground swedge, thin blade steel. It's got it's it's got this injection molded plastic handle around it.

Bob DeMarco [00:41:41]:
Can't say what it is. It just feels like plastic, could be GRN or what have you. But it is full tang as is evidenced by the pommel here. And, it is very thin, very slicey, extremely sharp. I have no doubt that if this were your fighter and you were gonna fight with this, you would be in good stead with this knife. But to me, this is probably just more of a great all around camp knife. It's super light, super thin, and slicey. This'll be great for all sorts of, camp tasks, not only food prep, but, making fire sticks and carving and all that kind of thing.

Bob DeMarco [00:42:23]:
Though, if you look at the balance, it's balanced like a fighting knife right here in that first finger, group. Sorry, let me just calm it down there. Right there in that first finger groove area. Perfect for knife fighting. You do feel the seam of that injected molded plastic. If this were mine, I'd probably hit that with sandpaper for a good twenty seconds and knock that off there. But it's, great jimping also in the handle. But it's it's it's a Condor, and Condor makes some great knives.

Bob DeMarco [00:42:56]:
I have, three or four of them. And, they they really do cover the gamut from, less expensive to kind of premium these days. The sheep, I would say, is also kind of less expensive. It it feels like some random plastic. I'm not gonna say it's definitely not Kydex or, doesn't even feel like Grivx. I can't tell what it is, but it kind of doesn't matter. It matches color wise and it locks the, locks the blade in nice and tight. You do have a leather, drop loop here for the belt and a cool way of attaching it here.

Bob DeMarco [00:43:36]:
Now if your thing is a different kind of clip, you can always remove that, drop belt loop and, attach it another way. But Condor from El Salvador does so much cool stuff and, they have, one of their main designers is the great and powerful outdoorsman, Joe Flowers. I'm not sure if this is a Joe Flowers design, something tells me it's not, but they they do a lot of really cool stuff. So happy to happy to have this in hand and check it out, the Condor Fighter. Alright. Next up, this one is really cool. This was designed by Craig Powell of Topps Knives. This is the, Topps Poker.

Bob DeMarco [00:44:20]:
Now Craig Powell, you probably recognize his name. He is the general manager of Topps and kind of the forward facing face of Topps, where Leo Espinosa, is, one one of the three main founders and, kinda head of tops these days. Craig is the public facing guy, and this is his design. And man alive, I was not attracted to this design when it came out, to be a % honest. But having it in hand, it feels great in hand. It's super sharp ten ninety five blade steel and is extremely sharp. This is an awesome little knife, a great sort of EDC fixed blade, for, for all manner of tasks and shore. And not to mention, it would be pretty nasty if you needed to defend yourself with, you can maintain, you can have your forefinger through the finger ring and grip it real tight and have a very natural fist here, which is always kind of my, my test for a ringed knife.

Bob DeMarco [00:45:32]:
Can I grip it and make a true fist and not have it, make me change my grip? And it doesn't. Here you can see it's got, my two different colors micarta. You have a natural on the outside canvas and a black canvas closer to the tang of the knife. Interesting sort of worn cliffy blade, very useful for all sorts of utility tasks is also quite nasty, at least in a paper stab and paper slash. Comes in a great little kydex sheath taco style. Now this is a Topps branded, salt, soft, belt loop here in the waistband belt loop. Dave has it set up like this. I'm not sure if this is how it came, though I do know that when, I've received some knives from Tops, this is how they do it.

Bob DeMarco [00:46:25]:
You could slip this over most average sized belts and it's gonna be, a perfect perfect fit. So this is the, tops poker. And, this one is good for flipping if you want to. And I gotta say that straight edge, nasty on a slash. I know everyone wants that hawk bill, but a straight straight edge is just a nasty slash. So this USA made in Utah or or Idaho. Idaho. The tops poker.

Bob DeMarco [00:46:59]:
Very, very cool. Alright. Penultimate knife in this list is also from Topps Knives. This is the Cut four point o. This is designed by, Swanigan. What's his first name? Cannot remember his first name. I should have looked it up. I'm sorry.

Bob DeMarco [00:47:20]:
But you can look it up. This cut stands for combat utility tool. That's a four inch blade. It's a, one, I'm sorry, ten ninety five blade steel with a saber grind. Great, great jimping, fully engaging jimping. And, you know, for ringed type knives like this, when I'm holding it, in the regular, standard grip, I don't like to put my finger through the ring. I just like to use the ring as a big pommel. And on this knife with my medium to large size hands, it works great as a pommel.

Bob DeMarco [00:47:58]:
If you've got giant mitts, maybe it's, not comfortable and you have to put your finger in there. But I'm not if I don't have to put my finger in a ring, I won't. So nice, stout blade stock here. You got the natural canvas Han Micarta with the red g 10 linings. Super handsome knife. I gotta say this sort of standard drop point blade with the ring is this this version, this cut knife kind of came before a bunch of knives of this ilk that have come down the pipe and, many of them are awesome. You know, I love the Night Stalker from Teakel and that one from Montana, knife company is supposed to be really good too, but this Cut four point zero has just been an awesome knife. I had one, regrettably sold it and now this is back in my, my possession.

Bob DeMarco [00:48:54]:
Could it be Pro Providence? I don't know, but I've said I'm giving it away so I gotta give it away. Ten ninety five blade steel with that black fraction coating and a nice generous ring. Beautiful knife. And the sheath also, TACO Kydex, comes with this soft loop here. Good fit, but not so good that you can't just grip it and rip it and bring it to bear without pulling your pants off or something like that, so very nicely done there. Alright, the last knife here, I'm not gonna show you the one that Dave gave me because it is pristine. It hasn't, even the sheath hasn't been removed from the sealed plastic bag, So I figured I would show you mine, as a proxy for the one you would be winning if you come to Thursday Night Knives, 10PM Eastern Standard Time every Thursday on YouTube and Twitch and put knife in when I announce this because that's how you're gonna win these knives. It's a beauty.

Bob DeMarco [00:49:57]:
This is from CIVIVI and, one of my favorite knives, in general, one of my favorite CIVIVIs. This is the Tamashi E, designed by Bob Terzuola, the great and powerful, the godfather of the tactical folder and, also just maker of awesome tactical fixed blade knives. This obviously has a, very strong tip of the hat to traditional Chinese daggers, knives I should say, tantos and, Boykin and that kind of thing with that upswept blade, but this one has a beautiful swedge on it, great for piercing, has a great run of jimping on the handle here, but also up on the blade. So a multi, I'm sorry, a knife design that's useful in a number of different grips, whether it's this saber grip or this Filipino grip. Of course, it's great in the reverse grip too. You've got a great pommel to, cap with the thumb. This thing is awesome. Now, this one, just like the knife Dave gave me to give to you, has dark green, hunter green canvas micarta.

Bob DeMarco [00:51:14]:
In my case, I've carried this a lot, held it a lot, so it has darkened up a bit. The one you will be receiving when you win the Savini Tomashi I will be, pristine. So it'll take a little bit of time for you to put your own personal filth signature into that, micarta to get it to darken up. So this is the one I have. Now the knife comes now I've set this up for my own, carry. I like to carry this horizontally on the belt upfront, but it does come with this style, Tecla, also co designed by Bob Gerzolola. It also comes with a nice big, fob or lanyard, which I don't care for personally, but it's a cool little bit of kit that you get with all, Civivi, fixed blade knives. So this is probably my favorite of the bunch, and I can vouch for it personally, having had one for a couple of years now.

Bob DeMarco [00:52:15]:
This is an amazing fixed blade knife, the CIVIVI Tameshi e designed by Bob Terzuola. Just one of not one of nine fixed blade knives you stand to win if you join us here on Thursday Night Knives. Every Thursday night, it's live. You comment. We talk. It's awesome. We have such a good time. On occasion, I'll bring a guest on, and you can talk to whoever that knife maker is, but mostly it's just you all and me and we have an awesome, awesome time.

Bob DeMarco [00:52:46]:
So do be sure to check that out. Also, I wanna give a big shout out and thanks, to Dave of OG Blade Reviews. Please go check out his channel. I'm sure if you're here, you probably already know about him and watch his channel because he's got such amazing taste in, knives and a sprawling collection. So he he's always got some new cool stuff happening. So OG Blade Ravine, and he is the OG. Alright. Thanks for watching the show this week.

Bob DeMarco [00:53:20]:
For Jim working his magic behind the switcher, I'm Bob DeMarco saying until next time, don't take dull for an answer.
