Neeves Knives: A Passion Turned into a Successful Business

Jerad Neeve, one-half of the dynamic duo behind Neeves Knives, recently appeared on episode 393 of The Knife Junkie Podcast to talk about his successful YouTube channel and online YouTube business. Along with his wife Kara, Jarad started Neeves Knives five and a half years ago at their kitchen table, and now they enjoy an audience of nearly a quarter million subscribers.

The couple offers a comprehensive picture of the contemporary folding knife market, hosting numerous live shows every week to encourage conversation and community. They are well-respected in the knife community and are known for their friendly and approachable demeanor.

Jerad’s passion for knives began at a young age, and he has been carrying a knife since he was five years old. When he discovered the knife community, he was immediately hooked and wanted to share his passion with others. Kara soon joined in on the fun, and together they started Neeves Knives.

The couple initially started their YouTube channel as a hobby, but it quickly turned into a business. They were willing to put in two years of hard work without making any money, knowing that their passion for knives would drive them to success. And it did. In 2022 Neeves Knives shot to the top of YouTube’s knife channels, due not only to the great personalities, information, and knives featured, but also a concerted effort to learn the YouTube algorithm and how YouTube works as a business.

The couple has a wide perspective on knife usage, both having had jobs in their past that relied on knives. The Neeves are rare in that they discuss knives as defensive weapons. Together, they are the first couple in the YouTube knife world to offer two distinct perspectives on knives in one channel.
