Legendary knife designer Bill Harsey joins Bob “The Knife Junkie” DeMarco on episode #120 of The Knife Junkie podcast. From growing up in the family logging business in Oregon to becoming a top-name in the knife industry, Harsey and The Knife Junkie cover a lot of ground in this fascinating conversation.

From the design of the Yarborough Knife — which is named after Lt. Gen. William P. Yarborough, known as the “father of modern Special Forces” — to the Spartan-Harsey folder and the Spartan-Harsey Dagger, as well as lots of history and interesting stories in between, you will not want to miss a minute of this podcast.

I truly enjoyed my conversation with knife legend Bill Harsey on episode 120 of The Knife Junkie Podcast. Lots of great knife talk, history and some cool stories! #theknifejunkie Click To Tweet

This is the book Harsey referenced: “Kill Or Get Killed: Riot Control Techniques, Manhandling, and Close Combat for Police and the Military” by Rex Applegate. The book is the best and longest-selling book on close combat in history. Reprinted and in current use by the U.S. Marine Corps as an official training manual, it details methods of self-defense, offensive close combat, combat shooting and crowd-control techniques in riot situations. Colonel Rex Applegate is widely regarded as the father of modern close combat and combat shooting, and this book is considered the standard by which all other books on the subject are judged.
